Who will win the Super Bowl according to Siri, Google and Alexa

The Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots face off in Super Bowl LIII, which kicks off on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET.

For fun, I asked Apple‘s Siri, GoogleAssistant, Amazon Alexa and MicrosoftCortana who will win.

The responses are pretty funny, and while the Patriots are favored, at least one, Google, picks the underdog.

Here’s what each digital assistant said:

Siri, who will win the Super Bowl?

“The odds favor the Patriots over the Rams by 2.5 points.”

Alexa, who will win the Super Bowl?

“As much as I want the Rams to win, you can never count out the New England Patriots. My prediction? The Patriots will be taking home the Vince Lombardi trophy. And Tom Brady will need to use his other hand to take home that sixth Super Bowl ring.”

Cortana, who will win the Super Bowl?

“On Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time. The Patriots face the Rams in the Super Bowl. My sources are decidedly favoring the Patriots.”

Google, who will win the Super Bowl?

Google has a few responses.

“I like teams associated with animals, so I’ll take the Rams. But the Patriots do have the GOAT in Tom Brady, so I guess we’ll see what happens.” Editor’s Note: GOAT is short for “greatest of all time.”

“The Patriots are favored to win, and I can’t help but root for the underdog, so I’ll be cheering for the Rams.”

“The Rams are the only pro football franchise to win championships in 3 different cities: Cleveland, Los Angeles and St. Louis. It’s hard not to root for a team that has brought joy to so many places.”

Half of people who think they have a food allergy do not – study

The number of adults who think they have a food allergy is almost double the figure who actually have one, research has revealed.

While the study was conducted in the US, experts say a similar situation is also seen in other countries, including the UK. The researchers found that many people with an allergy do not have a prescription for potentially life-saving medication, while others might be avoiding foods unnecessarily.

The study suggests almost 11% of adults in the US have a food allergy, equating to more than 26 million people. About 12 million of these are estimated to have developed the allergy as an adult, highlighting that allergies do not only begin in childhood.

“This is really concerning because chances are they could eat the food and then all of a sudden they have a reaction to a food that they could previously tolerate – so what changed in their environment or in them that caused them to now develop this food allergy?” said Ruchi Gupta, a professor of paediatrics at Northwestern University and a co-author of the research.

“Some of these foods you know that they probably were able to eat [previously] because they are such common foods in the diet, but shellfish was interesting – it could be one that they are trying for the first time as an adult.”

Gideon Lack, a professor of paediatric allergy at King’s College London, who was not involved in the research, said the growing problem of food allergies in adults might be linked to the dramatic rise seen in children over the past 20 years.

“We have been focusing efforts and concerns about food allergy in children, and this study is telling us there is a very significant burden of food-allergic disease in adults and we ought to be directing more attention and resources towards diagnosing and treating those adults,” he said.

Writing in the journal Jama Network Open, researchers in the US describe how they conducted a survey in two groups of participants between October 2015 and September 2016. In total more than 40,000 adults in the US took part.

Participants were asked if they had a food allergy and were questioned about their reactions and diagnoses. The team then assessed whether the reported allergy, whether diagnosed or not, was “convincing” – for example if the participant had experienced symptoms such as throat tightening or vomiting.

“If they only had, say, bloating or stomach pain or diarrhoea then we took them out because that could be a lactose intolerance or a food intolerance,” said Gupta.

The results reveal that the most common “convincing” allergy was to shellfish, affecting 2.9% of adults, with milk and peanuts in second and third place, affecting 1.9% and 1.8% of adults respectively.

But while 10.8% of participants were deemed to have at least one convincing food allergy, almost twice as many – 19% – reported they had such a problem.

“There are so many adults out there who have a negative reaction to a food. It is really important to get a proper diagnosis so that they can really know is this something treatable like lactose intolerance, or is this a life-threatening food allergy that they need to be very careful with,” said Gupta.

Of those with a “convincing” allergy, almost half said they had developed at least one of their food allergies as an adult, while about 38% said they had undertaken an emergency hospital visit as a result of a food allergy. However, only 48% said they had received a diagnosis from a doctor and just a quarter said they had a prescription for adrenaline, a common allergy treatment.

Prof Clare Mills, an expert in food allergies at the University of Manchester, welcomed the study but said it had limitations, including relying on self-reported data, including for symptoms. What’s more, she said, the healthcare system in the US is very different to the UK, meaning access to healthcare, and even the way adrenaline is prescribed, is very different.

Stephen Till, a professor of allergy at King’s College London, said the prevalence of “true” allergies seen in the study seemed surprisingly high, but the widespread misapprehension of having an allergy chimed with his clinical experience in the UK.

“I often see patients who think that they have a severe allergy who either aren’t allergic or who have mild allergy. They may have been unnecessarily prescribed adrenaline auto-injectors and be on a restricted diet avoiding even trace exposure to the suspected culprit,” he said, noting that this could cause significant anxiety and difficulties.

“Unfortunately … we have a shortage of physicians who are trained in adult allergy and so this amplifies these kinds of problems.”

Leftists Who Donated To Stormy Daniels’ Legal Fund End Up Having to Pay Trump’s Court Fees

Much hilarity ensued after it was pointed out that leftists who donated over $500,000 dollars to Stormy Daniels’ legal fund would now basically have to pay for Donald Trump’s court fees.

Last night it was revealed that Trump had defeated the defamation suit brought by Daniels after Trump accused her on Twitter of lying about a man allegedly threatening her to keep her quiet about a sexual encounter she claims to have had with the president.

“On Monday, Federal District Judge S. James Otero in Los Angeles dismissed Daniels’ lawsuit against Trump, calling his tweet “rhetorical hyperbole normally associated with politics and public discourse in the United States,” reports Yahoo News.

The ruling prompted a number of people to point out that a lot of the money leftists sent to Daniels in the hope of bringing down Trump has now actually gone straight back to Trump.

“Stormy Daniels has to pay all of Trump’s legal fees,” remarked one Twitter user. “All of the “resistance” people who donated to her GoFundMe is now literally paying Trump.” I’m crying with laughter.”

Asylum seeker brutally rapes CHILD who was teaching him German

A 27-year-old asylum seeker in Bückeburg in Germany, admits to forcing a 13-year-old girl to have sex with him, news outlet Unser Tirol reports.

The young girl and the migrant met at the local refugee relief centre and they met several times. The migrant said he wanted to learn the German language.

But when he had the chance, his real intentions came to light. He attacked and raped the 13-year-old girl in the room of her friend in Bückeburg.

“My daughter said that he held her and locked the door,” the girl’s mother is quoted by the Schaumburg News . “He forced her as she said, ‘No, I do not want that.’”

The man claims he did not know that his victim was only 13-years-old. “I thought she was 18 or 19. She looked grown-up,” he says in German court.

The accused must now be proven guilty by the court. Prosecutor Karin Dubben accuses the asylum seeker of severe sexual abuse of a child.

The 27-year-old had “complete sexual intercourse” and “used force” during it, according to the prosecutor.

Who Sent POISON Letters To Trump, Ted Cruz And The Pentagon?

Questions abound over the origin of letters sent to the White House and The Pentagon that were found to contain ricin, the highly toxic substance made from castor beans.

Reports suggest that two packages were stopped Monday at a mail facility before they entered the Pentagon. The packages were addressed to U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis and the Navy’s top officer, Admiral John Richardson.

It has now been confirmed that the Secret Service intercepted a third package addressed to the President.

“The envelope was not received at the White House, nor did it ever enter the White House,” a statement noted, adding “We can confirm that we are working jointly with our law enforcement partners to fully investigate this matter.”

In a potentially related incident, a “white powdery substance” was discovered in mail sent to Senator Ted Cruz’s Houston campaign office.

The Houston Fire Department confirmed that the building had been evacuated, and that two people have been hospitalized.

It has not been confirmed if the incidents are linked, or that the substance at Cruz’s office is also ricin.

If inhaled, ricin can cause nausea, vomiting, and ultimately a painful death within hours if the toxins trigger internal bleeding and respiratory failure.

The substance is fairly easy to create with castor beans being readily available. Thus it is considered a crude form of poisoning, certainly not indicative of a sophisticated plot.

In previous incidents involving ricinsent to politicians and authority figures, the perpetrators have been determined to be mentally disturbed individuals.

Last week Senator Cruz was harassed and forced to leave a restaurant by members of a leftist mob, who described the Senator as a ‘fascist’.

The group, which calls itself ‘Smash Racism DC’ vowed on Twitter, “You are not safe. We will find you.”

“This is a message to Ted Cruz, Bret Kavanaugh, Donald Trump and the rest of the racist, sexist, transphobic, and homophobic right-wing scum: You are not safe. We will find you. We will expose you. We will take from you the peace you have taken from so many others.” the tweet read.

One founder of the group is Antifa supporting professor Mike Isaacsonwho previously tweeted about teaching “future dead cops” and assassinating Mike Pence.

Isaacson previously tweeted his desire to “Kill all white people born before 1962.”

null

On the day of the presidential election, Isaacson tweeted, “Reminder that if Trump does end up winning this stupid thing to assassinate Mike Pence *first*.” The tweet has not been deleted and remains active.

Here he is encouraging people to, “Kill your local politicians before they kill you.”

It is not known whether Isaacson still has any involvement with the group that harassed Cruz, but given their apparent threats his views certainly seemed to be shared by the group.

There have been several incidents recently involving the ‘doxxing’ of Republicans and harrassment by leftist mobs.

Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Florida Attorney General Pat Bondi, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and White House advisor Stephen Miller have been recently targeted by such angry mobs.

Hungary’s ‘Stop Soros’ bill suggests jail time for those who help migrants

Earlier this month, Soros’ Open Society Foundation announced it would leave Hungary and relocate to Germany.

“The government of Hungary has denigrated and misrepresented our work,” the foundation’s president Patrick Gaspard said at the time.

An earlier version of the “Stop Soros” bill proposed a 25 percent tax on foreign donations to groups that encourage migration, a detail that was removed in the latest draft.

But the Hungarian government also suggested this week that the constitution be amended to say “foreign populations cannot be settled in Hungary.” The government also wants to refuse asylum for migrants who reach Hungary after passing through another country where they were not persecuted. That would disqualify many of those who make long journeys through multiple countries before they reach the EU.

The U.N.’s high commissioner for refugees warned that the legislation could “further inflame tense public discourse and rising xenophobic attitudes.”

And on Tuesday, Soros said in a speech at the European Council on Foreign Relations in London that Orban is “now posing as the defender of his version of a Christian Europe that is challenging the values on which the European Union was founded.”

This week, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto in Washington. State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said Pompeo “underscored the importance of maintaining a vibrant civil society.”

The Pentagon Will Know Who You Are by How You Hold Your Phone

The Defense Department is funding a project that officials say could revolutionize the way companies, federal agencies and the military itself verify that people are who they say they are and it could be available in most commercial smartphones within two years.

The technology, which will be embedded in smartphones’ hardware, will analyze a variety of identifiers that are unique to an individual, such as the hand pressure and wrist tension when the person holds a smartphone and the person’s peculiar gait while walking, said Steve Wallace, technical director at the Defense Information Systems Agency.

Organizations that use the tool can combine those identifiers to give the phone holder a “risk score,” Wallace said. If the risk score is low enough, the organization can presume the person is who she says she is and grant her access to sensitive files on the phone or on a connected computer or grant her access to a secure facility. If the score’s too high, she’ll be locked out.

Autonomous Drones Will Soon Decide Who To Kill

The United States Army wants to develop a system that can be quickly integrated and deployed into its weaponized drone fleet to automatically Detect, Recognize, Classify, Identify (DRCI) and target enemy combatantsand vehicles using artificial intelligence (AI). This is an impressive leap forward, whereas humans still operate current military drones, this technology could foster a new era of autonomous drones conducting operations in hybrid wars — without human oversight.
