Xi Expands South China Sea Influence

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte have agreed to work together on oil and gas exploration and cooperate on infrastructure projects — as Beijing continues to defend the militarization of islands in the South China Sea.

In a sign the two countries are moving closer together as tensions increase between China and the United States, Beijing said its state-owned China National Offshore Oil Corporation would take up joint exploration in “relevant sea areas” of the South China Sea, CNN reported.

Xi met with Duterte in Manila on Tuesday for the start of a two-day visit. The two sides announced 29 agreements as Duterte takes a pragmatic approach to his neighbor. Others in the Philippines protested the Xi visit.

Nimes Feria terror: Driver shouting ‘allahu akbar’ ploughs into crowd in south France

The 32-year-old suspect mowed down two suspects who have been rushed to hospital following the shock incident at 1am in Nimes, southern France, where bystanders had gathered in preparation for the region’s annual grape harvesting festival.

The man was reported to have sped the car towards a crowd of 50 people outside the L’Instant T bar.

Witnesses said the man had tried to flee the scene but had been stopped by bystanders before being arrested by police at 1.30am.

The victims had been standing behind barriers when the car hit them.

They were rushed to a nearby hospital in a stable condition having suffered injuries to their lower limbs.

A source told French publication Midi Libre the man was not known to police for suspected radicalisation.

US will solidify its presence in South China Sea

US private sector intelligence company Stratfor has tipped that the US will solidify its naval presence in the South China Sea in the latest bout of US-China rivalry.

In its third quarter forecast, Stratfor also tipped that US President Donald Trump will continue to pile the tariffs on Chinese goods.

That could certainly have a flow on effect to the Australian economy.

And familiar threats will resurface from the Korean Peninsula as US-North Korea talks stumble.

As Land Confiscations Loom, South Africa Rules 300,000 Gun-Owners Turn Over Their Weapons

South Africa is opening the door for tyranny.

The Constitutional Court of South Africa recently ruled that 300,000 gun owners must turn in their firearms.

This judgement came in response to the North Gauteng High Court’s ruling in 2017 which said Section 24 and Section 28 of the Firearm’s Control Act were unconstitutional.

A report from The Citizen explains what Section 24 and Section 28 entail:

“Section 24 of the Act requires that any person who seeks to renew a licence must do so 90 days before its expiry date Section 28 stipulates that if a firearm licence has been cancelled‚ the firearm must be disposed of or forfeited to the state. A 60-day time frame was placed on its disposal, which was to be done through a dealer.”

Now that the High Court’s initial ruling has been overturned, gun owners who failed to renew their firearms licenses must hand in their firearms to the nearest police station, where authorities will then proceed to destroy them.

Many naïve political observers will paint this event as a casual gun control scheme, but any astute student of politics will recognize that the floodgates are now open for further encroachments – not only on the gun rights of South Africans, but also on others facets of theirs lives.

South Africans Say Trump is Right: White Farmers Being Slaughtered

Residents of South Africa are creating videos backing up US President Donald Trump’s claims that white farmers in South Africa are being murdered.

In riveting firsthand testimony uploaded to Twitter Monday, several South Africans pushed back against the mainstream media, testifying violence against whites is on the rise.

Danie Barnard, 32, a South African citizen, on Monday thanked President Trump for bringing attention to the issue and said he faces constant violence in the region.

Trump Orders State Dept to ‘Closely Study’ South Africa’s Killing of White Farmers, Seizing of Land

President Donald Trump on Wednesday night ordered the State Department to “closely study” the “large scale killing” of white farmers and the seizing of their lands in South Africa after Tucker Carlson blasted the State Department for going along with the theft.

Trump tweeted: “I have asked Secretary of State @SecPompeo to closely study the South Africa land and farm seizures and expropriations and the large scale killing of farmers. ‘South African Government is now seizing land from white farmers.’ @TuckerCarlson @FoxNews.”

President Trump no doubt caught Tucker Carlson’s shocking report on the seizures just hours before:

White farmers in South Africa have been subject to what many have called a genocide:

Even though whites makes up a tiny, persecuted minority in South Africa, they’re given zero special protections and are instead having their rights trampled on.

N. Korea says won’t hold talks with ‘incompetent’ South unless differences settled

The comments by Ri Son Gwon, chairman of North Korea’s Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the country, were the latest in a string of inflammatory statements marking a drastic change in tone after months of easing tension with plans for denuclearisation and a summit scheduled with the United States.

Ri criticized the South for participating in the drills, as well as for allowing “human scum” to speak at its National Assembly, the North’s KCNA news agency said in a statement.

“Unless the serious situation which led to the suspension of the north-south high-level talks is settled, it will never be easy to sit face to face again with the present regime of south Korea,” the statement said.

Senate votes to ban nearly all abortions in South Carolina

The S.C. Senate voted Wednesday night to outlaw virtually all abortions in South Carolina.

The Legislature’s upper chamber voted 28-10 to allow exceptions only in cases of rape, incest or medical emergencies that could seriously harm the pregnant woman or threaten her life. The bill still faces long odds to passage, up against a Democratic filibuster that could put off a final Senate vote until after lawmakers adjourn for the year.

If passed, the new law almost certainly would spark a court challenge. But that is the goal, according to Senate Republicans who want to overturn the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision affirming abortion rights.

“It’s designed to give the court an opportunity to revisit Roe v. Wade,” said Senate Majority Leader Shane Massey, R-Edgefield.

PEACE! North and South Korea agree to ‘COMPLETE denuclearisation’ as Moon Jae-in vows ‘there will be no war’ with Kim Jong-un

The declaration included promises to pursue military arms reduction, cease “hostile acts,” turn their fortified border into a “peace zone,” and seek multilateral talks with other countries, such as the United States.

In his first ever press conference in front of the world’s media Kim Jong-un said:“We are one nation we cannot be separated. We share the same blood.

“We are living with each other. We are brothers.”

The Koreas said they hope the parties will be able to declare an official end to the war by the end of this year.

What’s happened so far:

  • Kim Jong-un met with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on the southern side of the demilitarised zone in the border truce village of Panmunjom
  • He made history as the first North Korean leader to cross into the South since the Korean War ended in 1953
  • The leaders displayed signs of unity and peace as they shook hands on both sides of the border line
  • Kim signed a guest book at the Peace House, in which he wrote: “A new history begins now”
  • Referring to missile tests, Kim joked “[we] won’t interrupt your early morning sleep anymore”
  • Kim offered to visit South Korean presidential mansion after Moon suggested more summits
  • The pair have planted a commemorative pine tree from 1953 – the year the Korean War armistice was signed – at the border truce village.
  • The countries have agreed to the the complete denuclearisation of the peninsula and hope to declare the war officially over by the end of this year.

South Africa farm attacks: Australia a ‘racist country’, Julius Malema says

IF WHITE farmers want to flee for a “racist country” like Australia they should leave the keys to their houses and tractors behind, the head of South Africa’s radical Marxist opposition party says.

But Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema, who recently declared his party was “cutting the throat of whiteness”, denied white farmers were being killed. “We don’t know violence, we know negotiations,” Malema told a packed Human Rights Day rally in Mpumalanga Stadium on Wednesday.

“And we are very robust in our engagement sometimes. A racist country like Australia says: ‘The white farmers are being killed in South Africa.’ We are not killing them. Now Australia says: ‘Malema, EFF want to kill white farmers, they must come to Australia.’

“If they want to go, they must go. They must leave the keys to their tractors because we want to work the land, they must leave the keys to their houses because we want to stay in those houses. They must leave everything they did not come here with in South Africa and go to Australia.”

His comments came as Australian Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton stared down criticism from “crazy lefties” as he pushed on with plans to bring white South African farmers to Australia.

“They don’t realise how completely dead they are to me,” Mr Dutton told Sydney radio station 2GB on Thursday.
