Don Jr.: The ‘Alliance’ Between Big Tech And The Activist Left ‘Prevents People From Being Heard’

Donald Trump Jr. discussed conservative censorship on social media during an appearance on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Tuesday night.

WATCH:

“Do you think, you talked to a lot of Republicans in Washington, do you think they understand the threat of woke capitalism, the alliance between the activist left and big business that is shutting down speech?” Carlson asked.

“I have a platform to actually do something about it. There are guys, Kevin McCarthy has been pretty vocal about it, but the reality is that nothing has changed,” Trump Jr. answered. “I put up an Instagram post two weeks ago about the Smollett thing because I had the gall to be a little bit cynical about the entire ridiculous situation that was laid out and Instagram just deleted it.”

As Trump Jr. noted, Instagram took down his post about Smollett “in error” last week.

He continued:

I sort of responded in my normal fashion rather aggressively, saying, ‘What’s wrong with this here? Is the problem yada yada?’ and I got inundated, Tucker. Hundreds of people sending me DMs: ‘Don, my account was shut down because I tried liking one of your tweets, or I tried liking one of your father’s Instagram posts that was like him and his grandchildren, nothing even controversial, and time and time again, I’ve had to follow you, Don, three times in the last week because they keep on unfollowing you.”

Elizabeth Warren makes big move toward 2020 presidential run

Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Monday took the first major step toward launching a widely anticipated campaign for the presidency, hoping her reputation as a populist fighter can help her navigate a Democratic field that could include nearly two dozen candidates.

“No matter what our differences, most of us want the same thing,” the 69-year-old Massachusetts Democrat said in a video that highlights her family’s history in Oklahoma. “To be able to work hard, play by the same set of rules and take care of the people we love. That’s what I’m fighting for and that’s why today I’m launching an exploratory committee for president.”

Warren burst onto the national scene a decade ago during the financial crisis with calls for greater consumer protections. She quickly became one of the party’s more prominent liberals even as she sometimes fought with Obama administration officials over their response to the market turmoil.

Now, as a likely presidential contender, she is making an appeal to the party’s base. Her video notes the economic challenges facing people of color along with images of a women’s march and Warren’s participation at an LGBT event.

In an email to supporters, Warren said she’d more formally announce a campaign plan early in 2019.

Warren is the most prominent Democrat yet to make a move toward a presidential bid and has long been a favorite target of President Donald Trump.

In mid-December, former Obama housing chief Julian Castro also announced a presidential exploratory committee, which legally allows potential candidates to begin raising money. Outgoing Maryland Rep. John Delaney is the only Democrat so far to have formally announced a presidential campaign.

But that’s likely to change quickly in the new year as other leading Democrats take steps toward White House runs.

Warren enters a Democratic field that’s shaping up as the most crowded in decades, with many of her Senate colleagues openly weighing their own campaigns, as well as governors, mayors and other prominent citizens. One of her most significant competitors could be Sen. Bernie Sanders, a Vermont independent who is eyeing another presidential run harnessing the same populist rhetoric.

She must also move past a widely panned October release of a DNA test meant to bolster her claim to Native American heritage. The move was intended to rebut Trump’s taunts of Warren as “Pocahontas.” Instead, her use of a genetic test to prove ethnicity spurred controversy that seemed to blunt any argument she sought to make. There was no direct mention of it in the video released Monday.

Warren has the benefit of higher name recognition than many others in the Democratic mix for 2020, thanks to her years as a prominent critic of Wall Street who originally conceived of what became the government’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

She now faces an arduous battle to raise money and capture Democratic primary voters’ attention before Iowa casts its first vote in more than a year. She has an advantage in the $12.5 million left over from her 2018 re-election campaign that she could use for a presidential run.

Warren’s campaign is likely to revolve around the same theme she’s woven into speeches and policy proposals in recent years: battling special interests, paying mind to the nexus between racial and economic inequities.

“America’s middle class is under attack,” Warren said in the video. “How did we get here? Billionaires and big corporations decided they wanted more of the pie. And they enlisted politicians to cut them a fatter slice.”

Dems Want Traffic Tax, Text Tax, Big Bro Black Box in Cars

Protestors in France are protesting toll roads, destroying speed cameras and repealing fuel taxes.

But in the USA the new Congress will have a Democrat heading the House Transportation Committee and he’s preparing a bill to require you to put a black box in your car so you can be tracked and taxed — taxed MORE if you’re in a traffic jam.

FLASHBACK : 5G smartphones cause cancer; Big Wireless doesn’t want you to know

*I HAVE BEEN waiting and waiting for this particular form of popular fear to surface again. Electro-radiation fear has been subterranean for decades now.

*If smartphones cause cancer (and who knows, maybe they do, why not) then it’s even more likely that electric blankets, high-tension lines, microwave ovens and even household electrical wiring cause even more cancer. Plus, there must be thousands of other things that cause far more cancer than 5G smartphones, as otherwise we’d be seeing a colossal mortality wave of men and women with brain tumors and most likely ear tumors.

*Ever been to California? Where you walk into certain buildings with loud, alarming signs that declare, “Something In Here Causes Cancer In the State of California, Only, There’s Nothing You Can Do About That, Except To Worry”? This is an intervention that is very much like that.

Late yesterday, an independent peer review of the US National Toxicology Program’s cell phone study announced their findings of clear evidence that cell phone radiation causes cancer—validating The Nation’s new special investigation:

How Big Wireless Made Us Think That Cell Phones Are Safe: A Special Investigation
The disinformation campaign—and massive radiation increase—behind the 5G rollout.
The Nation 4-23-18

Mark Hertsgaard, the Nation’s investigative editor and the author of seven books, and award-winning investigative journalist Mark Dowie offer the first exposé of the wireless industry’s decades-long, global campaign to war-game science, manipulate media coverage, and massage government officials into convincing the public that cell phones are safer than independent science suggests.

Everyone knows Big Tobacco lied about cigarettes; Big Oil lied about climate change. This is the third leg of the stool: how Big Wireless used the same exact playbook to deceive the public and create the appearance of scientific uncertainty—making people think that cell phones are safer than independent science suggests. This, despite the fact that the wireless industry’s own scientists privately warned it decades ago there were “serious questions” about wireless radiation’s links to cancer and genetic damage.

(One key player has not been swayed by all the wireless-friendly research: the insurance industry. We found not a single insurance company that would sell a product-liability policy that covered cell-phone radiation. “Why would we want to do that?” one executive asked with a chuckle before pointing to more than two dozen lawsuits outstanding against wireless companies, demanding a total of $1.9 billion in damages.)

In the 1980s, cell phones were allowed onto the US consumer market without any government safety testing. This year, 5G is poised to roll out across the country, where antennas the size of a pizza box will have to be installed approximately every 250 feet to ensure connectivity. Wall Street is salivating at the potential trillions of dollars in economic activity—but by fast-tracking the technology and not doing premarket safety testing, will we make the same mistake with 5G as we did with cell phones?

According to the National Toxicology Program’s study, commissioned by the FDA in 1999, there is much more evidence of a cancer-cell phone connection than is widely assumed. More shockingly, NTP brass attempted to water down the public health implications of their findings—in line with the wireless industry’s long-standing denial that cell phone users face risks.

“How Big Wireless Made Us Think That Cell Phones Are Safe: A Special Investigation” is the April 23, 2018, cover story for The Nation, on stands the week of April 9. Hertsgaard is available for select interviews from San Francisco, CA. For bookings or further information, please see contact above.

The Latest Russia Collusion ‘Bombshells’ Are Big, Fat Duds

A recent blitz of “bombshell” headlines initially appear to show there might actually have been some collusion between the 2016 Trump presidential campaign and Russia.

First, there was The Guardian claiming that Paul “Manaford” (oops, the source meant Manafort) met with Julian Assange of WikiLeaks in spring 2016, with the obvious implication that it was done to plan or coordinate WikiLeak’s Hillary Clinton email dump.

Mollie Hemingway ably pointed out holes in the story by mentioning, among other issues, that Manafort would have entered the Ecuadorian embassy to meet Assange in the heart of London, which is blanketed by the most robust network of video cameras in the world. There would be video and it would have leaked. It hasn’t.

Margot Cleveland followed up with a nice article showing that The Guardian’s anonymous sourcing doesn’t pass muster against on-the-record denials from both Assange and Manafort, especially in light of the pattern of the media’s several false starts with other competing collusion theories.

U.S. Job Losses Accelerate: Here Are 10 Big Companies That Are Cutting Jobs Or Laying Off Workers

Job cuts and layoffs are coming fast and furious now as the U.S. economy really starts to slow down.

We haven’t seen anything like this since 2008, when millions of Americans lost their jobs in just a matter of months. Things are certainly not that bad yet, but there has been a very noticeable shift over the last couple of months. Back during the summer, everyone was talking about how well the U.S. economy was doing, but now things have dramatically changed. At this point, economic activity has slowed down so much that even Jim Cramer of CNBC is admitting that the U.S. economy has “cooled”. If current trends continue, things will certainly get even worse, and the job losses in this article will be just the tip of the iceberg.

Hopefully things will get better and I will not have to do any more articles like this. Because the worst part of any economic downturn is that large numbers of people lose their jobs.

When you are just barely scraping by from month to month, a sudden job loss can be absolutely crushing. So please keep that in mind as you are looking at the following list. These are not just numbers – these are real people with real hopes and real dreams.

Sadly, it isn’t corporate CEOs that get let go when an economic downturn happens. Instead, hard working people that are just trying to feed their families are the victims, and in this economic environment it is going to be difficult for those that have just been let go to find similar jobs.

The following are 10 big companies that are cutting jobs or laying off workers…

36 million have voted early, setting the stage for big midterm turnout

A staggering 36 million voters cast their ballots ahead of Election Day this year, setting the stage for much-higher-than-usual turnout for a midterm — and, potentially, big surprises on Tuesday night.

Republican enthusiasm for President Donald Trump and Democrats’ itch to repudiate him at the ballot box have driven people to the polls far faster than in 2014, when 27.2 million people voted early, according to Michael McDonald, a University of Florida professor who tracksvoter turnout.

And that trend is expected to extend into Election Day. Early voters in three states — Texas, Nevada and Arizona — have already surpassed total turnout in the last midterm election, McDonald’s data shows, and more states will blow past their normal non-presidential turnout with just a handful more votes on Election Day. The high voting rates have transformed expectations about who will show up in the midterms — and they could inspire results that diverge from any pre-election polls that did not reckon with this year’s unusually high enthusiasm.

“This is not a normal election,” McDonald told POLITICO. “The best guess is that we’re looking at some sort of hybrid midterm/presidential election” in terms of turnout.

Poll: 61% Of Big Tech Employees Say Ban Alex Jones

Big Tech employees overwhelmingly want to see the censorship of Alex Jones expanded, according to a new survey.

A recent survey from big tech workplace discussion app Blind shows that 61 percent of employees at major tech firms agree that Twitter should join the rest of Silicon Valley in blacklisting Infowars host Alex Jones. The notable exception is Twitter employees themselves.

The workplace discussion app Blind allows employees of major tech firms to sign up to anonymously discuss issues at their workplace, provided they sign up with an email address at the company they claim to work for. According to the app’s page in the iOS app store, it has registered thousands of employees from multiple tech firms: “37,000 Microsoft, 6,500 Uber, 21,000 Amazon employees and more from Google, Facebook, Airbnb, and others”

Blind regularly polls its users on a variety of topics, some as mundane as salary and benefits, others include the James Damore Google memo case and allegations of sexual harassment at Uber. Now the app has polled tech workers on their opinion of the banning of Infowars host Alex Jones with a poll titled ” Should Twitter ban Alex Jones from its platform?” 5,137 Blind users took part in the survey in late August.

Of those 5,137 users, 61.18 percent stated that they believed the InfoWars host should be blacklisted from Twitter’s online platform. Apple had the highest percentage of employees calling for the censoring of Jones at almost 72 percent. All of the tech firms represented had more than 50 percent of employees agreeing that Jones should be blacklisted, with the notable exception of Twitter itself, with just 21 percent of its employees agreeing with Jones being kicked off their employer’s platform.
